April Newsletter

Eastin Families,

It is hard to believe that we are heading into Spring Break next week and will have less than two
months of school left in this school year when we return. The year has gone by very fast. We have
a few more grade level field trips happening in April and May as well as a multiple on-campus
assemblies for our students.

State Testing
California state testing for our 3rd through 5th grade students will begin the week of April 17 and
will conclude on Friday, May 5. It is important that we complete state assessments for all our
students as we are penalized by the state for students that do not complete the state
assessments. Therefore, it is vital that your students attend school everyday during state testing.

Open House
Wow, what a turn out for Open House last month. I was so excited to see all the families visiting
our classrooms, the Book Fair, and the STEAM Fair. We ended the evening out on the playground
with our friends from East Bay Astronomical Society with an almost perfect evening viewing our
celestial neighbors!

Spring Concert

Thank you to all the families for being patient with our changing of dates due to weather for our
Spring Concert last week. It was important to us that we held our concert at Delaine Eastin so we
did not have to limit the amount of people that attended. Thank you to all the Eastin Staff
members that stayed to help out with the program. Thank you to Mr. deSouza, Coach Northcote,
Coach Crittendon, Mrs. Brown, Mr. Reyes, Mrs. Trapsi, and Mrs. Kniskern for working with our
students to prepare them for such a wonderful performance.
Have a great weekend and I hope our students, families, and staff have a wonderful, safe, and
relaxing Spring Break!

Sincerely,
Kevin Packham
Principal
