Eastin Families,
It is hard to believe that we are in the last month of school. For me the year has flown by. I have really enjoyed getting to know and work with the Eastin parents and family community this year. I am thrilled that we were able to open our school, post pandemic, for Back to School Night, Open House, Winter and Spring Concerts and Gallery Night. Furthermore, I am humbled by the support and parent participation in groups like Art Vistas, PTC, and the Eastin Garden Club, as well as classroom parent volunteers and chaperones.
Thank you for all you do!
The Eastin Newsletter will take the month of June off and will resume mid-July with information for the 2023-2024 school year.
Morning Supervision
Morning supervision begins at 7:45 am. We have a number of students that are dropped off and waiting outside at 7:20 am! This is too early for students to be waiting unsupervised. If you need childcare, please see the flyer below and contact Beyond The Bell.
End of Year Assessments
Our 3-5 grade students have finished their state testing! Great Job Monarchs! Our students did a great job of being at school, staying focused and working hard the last few weeks to complete their testing.
Our Kindergarten through 2nd Grade English Language Learners will be taking the ELPAC May 18-22.
And finally, all our students will be finishing their Spring NWEA and Literably assessments until the end of the year.
New Haven Day
The first New Haven Day, held on April 22, at James Logan was a great success! Our Instrumental Group and 3-5 Choir directed by Mr. de Souza and our All Star Square Dancers directed by Mr. de Souza, Coach Crittendon, and Coach Northcote did an outstanding job. Also a big thank you to Mr. Reyes for playing the drums, to volunteers, parents and staff members who helped out at the Eastin booth. I hope to see you at next year’s New Haven Day on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
I hope all of the Eastin families have a wonderful summer and I look forward to seeing everyone in August.
